  • Early detection Early detection of prostate cancer

Modern imaging techniques are capable of detecting prostate tumors at an early stage.

Prostate cancer is the most common tumor disease in men, but mortality rates are relatively low. This means that if prostate cancer requiring treatment is detected early, the overall prognosis is excellent. Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) of the prostate is performed in close cooperation with our colleagues in private practice, especially urologists, and can complement their examinations. MpMRI of the prostate according to PI-RADS 2.1 is highly sensitive and accurate for the non-invasive detection of prostate cancer. The Radiology Practice Baden-Baden has many years of expertise in the field of multiparametric prostate MRI with corresponding Q2 certifications from the German Radiological Society. Prostate MRI can be particularly helpful for urologists in cases where PSA levels are elevated but the cause is unclear after a negative punch biopsy or, if necessary, before performing a biopsy. Targeted biopsies become possible and unnecessary biopsies can sometimes be avoided.
