Präventives Lungenscreening im Rahmen des Lungenscreeningprogrammes führen wir aktuell nicht durch.
Long-term smokers in particular have a significantly increased risk of lung cancer. Since a normal X-ray does not provide sufficient certainty to rule out such a malignant disease of the lungs at an early stage, a procedure was first introduced in the USA in which the chest and thus the lungs are examined using a reduced-dose computed tomography (CT) scan. The Radiology Practice in Baden-Baden has a high-end CT scanner that requires only minimal radiation exposure.
The indication for performing an early detection examination is made after consultation with the attending physician, depending on the clinical picture and medical history, among other factors.
